"Die 1274 bzw. 1278 erstmals erwähnte "neue Marienkapelle" unterstand als Pfarrkiche dem Kloster Weingarten. 1470 wurde die dreischiffige Basilika um ein zusätzliches Seitenschiff erweitert. Am Westportal befindet sich ein Sandsteintympanon mit der Darstellung des Marienlebens. Die wertvollen Chorfenster stammen aus dem Jahr 1415. Die Ravensburger Schutzmantelmadonna stammt aus der Liebfrauenkirche."

The "new Marienkapelle", first mentioned in 1274 and 1278, was subordinate to the Weingarten monastery as a parish church. In 1470 the three-aisled basilica was extended by an additional aisle. At the west portal there is a sandstone tympanum depicting the life of Mary. The valuable choir windows date from 1415. The Ravensburger Schutzmantelmadonna comes from the Church of Our Lady.
