This caboose, Central of Georgia #X17, now sits in a park alongside the Chattooga & Chickamauga Railway and office. Over the years it's had several places called home and painted in a couple different liveries as can be seen in the link to RR Pictures Archives.

A visit to this website is needed if you wish to follow along with the rest of this description and see for yourself the differences made in the commentary below.

The following timeline info is based from those images and what information was provided so I can't verify the accuracy of it. One image even has the caboose as being ex-N&W 557778.

Timeline
In 2005 it was located in Tifton, GA. by 2007 the caboose was on display in Summerville, GA. where it sat till sometime around 2013-2014 it was once again moved to it current home in LaFayette.

A Bit of a Mystery.
Looking closely at the images on RR Pictures Archives there are differences in the Tifton caboose. Notably there appears to be no noticeable rivets which are prominent on the Summerville and LaFayette images. The windows are set higher and have a shade over each on the Tifton caboose. Other differences are the brake set wheel, the one in Tifton has a flower shape where the others show it as being a typical smooth round handbrake, the location of where and how it's mounted on the caboose is completely different. Even though there is a picture of the caboose in Tifton painted as Central of Georgia #X17 I'm led to believe these are actually two different caboose based on the images. The differences would require a major and expensive overhaul that doesn't make sense. Which, if either or both, is the real COG X17? That would require a much closer look at each to try and figure out.
