In celebration of the 350th anniversary of the Town of Suffield, a barn quilt trail was established throughout the town. Some painted barn quilts are bases on traditional patterns and others are more modern in their design.
The quilting group called Suffield in Stitches collaborated to create this red white and blue design of squares rectangles and triangles that forms a starburst variation on the traditional Doves in the Window quilt pattern. A large central square is subdivided into nine smaller squares. The center is blue and the corners are again subdivided into nine red white and blue squares while the sides squares are white and red stripes. Surrounding the large square are triangles and squares that form the starburst pattern.
Your Visit:
The barn quilt is on the north side of a large tobacco barn with the number 52 on the front is located on the south side of Mountain Rd. Very visible from to both east and west bound traffic.
