At the moment of writing this was a new beach, inaugurated in 2019. It's located in the municipality of Portel, which invested one million of Euros in its construction.

The water surface is the Alqueva dam lake, allegedly the largest of its kind in Europe.

All facilities can be found here: restrooms, showers, restaurant, cafe, parking lot, rescue teams, etc.

Note that in periods of heavy rain (not likely in the Summer) the water level might be really up, reducing the beach area to close to nothing.
Type of beach: Artificial

Location of beach: Lake

Beach surface type: Fine sand
