This headstone is for Luella M. Jones, who is buried at the Erie Cemetery in Erie, Pennsylvania. The headstone only gives the years Mrs. Jones lived, without the months or days. It states that she lived from 1895 to 1996. I could not find any additional information about her via an internet search, and so am unsure whether she was 100 years old or 101 years old when she died. Luella is buried next to her husband, Harry E. Jones, who lived from 1892 to 1979. There is a symbol of the Freemasons on their headstone. May she rest in peace.

In 1895, the year Luella was born, Grover Cleveland was serving his second term as president of the United States, Victoria was Queen of the United Kingdom, and Leo XIII was pope. That same year, Babe Ruth was born. Throughout Luella's life many important national and world events occurred, including the World Wars, the rise of Communism in places like the Soviet Union, and the Great Depression, as well as many significant technological changes, such as the inventions of the automobile, telephone, and computers. In the year Luella died, Bill Clinton was president, the summer Olympics were held in Atlanta, and the internet was gaining in popularity. It's amazing how different the world was when she was born as compared to when she died.
