Zogenaamde Paxpoort of poort van de Vrede. Monumentale toegangspoort in 1949-1950 gebouwd met betonnen brokstukken van de in 1946 gedynamiteerde IJzertoren. Rechthoekige plattegrond met centrale spitsboogvormige toegang bekleed met gele baksteen. Basis eveneens afgewerkt met dambordpatroon in gele baksteen. Boven de toegang in monumentale zwarte letters het opschrift "PAX". Onder de doorgang twee uitgebouwde nissen met vier ijzeren doornenkronen en op de zijkanten geschilderde Vlaamse leeuwen. Op de korte zijden van de poort, twee monumentale bakstenen kruisen opengewerkt met ijzeren ramen en op de begane grond een metalen toegangsdeur met gestileerde leeuwenkop en de letters "AVV-VVK". Onder de dwarsarmen van de kruisen zijn de vier gerecupereerde en gerestaureerde beelden naar ontwerp van beeldhouwer Karel Aubroeck (Temse) opgesteld. Rechts voor de Paxpoort: gedenksteen van Joe English. Kleine rechthoekige gedenksteen naar ontwerp van beeldhouwer Karel Lateur met in hoogreliëf de voorstelling van twee vrouwen in lange gewaden. De ene houdt een schilderspalet in de hand, de andere een kruis. Bovenaan uitgehouwen kruis met de letters "AVV-VVC" en gebeeldhouwde 'blauwvoet'. Op de sokkel het opschrift "JOE ENGLISH R.I.P.".

Ruïne van de oude IJzertoren en bijbehorende crypte. Gerestaureerde achtzijdige bakstenen basis van de voormalige crypte. Gedeeltelijk overdekt met een hedendaagse hemisferische betonkoepel gedragen door twee rijen konische betonpijlers naar ontwerp van architect J. Mortier (Cel Monumenten en Landschappen, Brugge). In de muur zijn nissen uitgespaard waarin heldenhuldezerkjes zijn aangebracht. Te midden van de crypte tussen twee hoogoprijzende restanten van de oude IJzertoren, monumentaal betonnen blok met het opschrift "hier liggen hun lijken als zaden in 't zand hoop op de oogst, O Vlaanderenland". Daarboven monumentaal witgeschilderd heldenhuldekruis met in het zwart het opschrift "AVV VVK" en een 'blauwvoet'.

Aan de basis van de ruïne van de oude IJzertoren, zogenaamd "Kruis van Nieuwpoort". Houten kruis met ijzeren Christusbeeld afkomstig uit de puinen van de stad Nieuwpoort en in 1937 in de crypte ondergebracht. Binnenin de crypte eveneens de graven met heldenhuldezerkje van o.m. R. de Rudder, J. De Winde, B. Willems, F. Van der Linden, J. English, F. Kusters, F. Deprez, de gebroeders Van Raemdonck, ... ; een heldenhuldezerkje "AAN AL WIE VIEL VOOR VLAANDEREN" en een gedenksteen aan de eerste steenlegging van de oude IJzertoren met het opschrift "E.H.C. Verschaeve legde en wijdde in allen eenvoud den eersten steen op zaterdag 7 juli 1928 feestdag van de H. Cyrillus".

De huidige IJzertoren. Naar boven toe versmallende toren eindigend in een met ramen opengewerkt kruis met korte dwarsarmen en het opschrift "AVV-VVK" in geperforeerd en gemoffeld aluminium. Onderaan op de vier hoeken over verschillende niveaus inspringende kubusvormige baksteenvolumes. Op de meest vooruitspringende volumes de opschiften "NOOIT MEER OORLOG", "NO MORE WAR", "PLUS JAMAIS DE GUERRE", "KEIN KRIEG MEHR" in witte letters. Grote achthoekige basis met parement in Ourthesteen en aan de noordoostzijde vooruitgeschoven betonnen toegangshal langs weerszijden geflankeerd door rechte steektrap. Skeletbouw van gewapend beton met aan de buitenzijde geelbakstenen parament. Het interieur met 22 verdiepingen is ingericht als het museum "Oorlog-Vrede-Vlaamse Ontvoogding". Op gelijkvloerse verdieping ontvangstruimte en kapel met glasramen van glazenier E. Yoors, onder andere naar ontwerp van kunstenaar Joe English. Voorts klokkenkamer met beiaard en op de 22ste verdieping panoramazaal met tegeltjes met de namen van de talrijke schenkers onder andere het Davidsfonds, de Vereniging van Oud-Strijders en de VTB."

"So-called Paxpoort or Gate of Peace. Monumental entrance gate built in 1949-1950 with concrete debris from the dynamited Yser Tower in 1946. Rectangular plan with central pointed arched entrance clad in yellow brick. Base also finished with checkerboard pattern in yellow brick. Above the entrance in monumental black letters the inscription "PAX". Under the passage are two extended niches with four iron crowns of thorns and Flemish lions painted on the sides. On the short sides of the gate, two monumental brick crosses openwork with iron windows and on the ground floor a metal entrance door with a stylized lion's head and the letters "AVV-VVK". The four recovered and restored statues designed by sculptor Karel Aubroeck (Temse) are placed under the cross arms of the crosses. Right in front of the Paxpoort: memorial stone of Joe English. Small rectangular memorial stone designed by sculptor Karel Lateur with a high relief depiction of two women in long robes. One holds a painter's palette in his hand, the other a cross. Cross carved at the top with the letters "AVV-VVC" and carved 'blue foot'. On the pedestal the inscription "JOE ENGLISH R.I.P.".

Ruin of the old Yser Tower and associated crypt. Restored eight-sided brick base of the former crypt. Partly covered with a contemporary hemispherical concrete dome supported by two rows of conical concrete pillars designed by architect J. Mortier (Cell Monuments and Landscapes, Bruges). In the wall niches have been cut into which heroes' tribute tombstones have been placed. In the middle of the crypt between two towering remains of the old Yser Tower, monumental concrete block with the inscription "here their corpses lie like seeds in the sand, hope for the harvest, O Vlaanderenland". Above it is a monumental white painted hero's tribute cross with the inscription "AVV VVK" in black and a 'blue foot'.

At the base of the ruins of the old Yser Tower, so-called "Kruis van Nieuwpoort". Wooden cross with iron statue of Christ from the ruins of the city of Nieuwpoort and housed in the crypt in 1937. Inside the crypt also the graves with heroes' tribute tombs of R. de Rudder, J. De Winde, B. Willems, F. Van der Linden, J. English, F. Kusters, F. Deprez, the Van Raemdonck brothers, ... ; a heroic tribute tombstone "TO ALL WHO FALL FOR FLANDERS" and a memorial stone at the laying of the first stone of the old Yser Tower with the inscription "E.H.C. Verschaeve laid and dedicated the first stone in all simplicity on Saturday 7 July 1928 feast day of St. Cyril".

The current Iron Tower. Narrowing tower ending in a cross with open windows with short cross arms and the inscription "AVV-VVK" in perforated and enamelled aluminum. At the bottom, on the four corners, over various levels, re-entrant cubic brick volumes. On the most forward-looking volumes, the scribble "NEVER MORE WAR", "NO MORE WAR", "PLUS JAMAIS DE GUERRE", "KEIN KRIEG MEHR" in white letters. Large octagonal base with facing in Ourthe stone and on the north-east side pushed forward concrete entrance hall flanked on both sides by straight stair. Skeleton construction of reinforced concrete with yellow brick parament on the outside. The 22-storey interior is furnished as the "War-Peace-Flemish Emancipation" museum. On the ground floor, reception room and chapel with stained glass windows by glazier E. Yoors, designed by artist Joe English, among others. Furthermore, a bell room with carillon and on the 22nd floor a panorama room with tiles with the names of the numerous donors, including the Davidsfonds, the Association of Old Warriors and the VTB."

"Ce qu'on appelle Paxpoort ou la porte de la paix. Porte d'entrée monumentale construite en 1949-1950 avec des débris de béton de la tour Yser dynamitée en 1946. Plan rectangulaire avec entrée centrale voûtée en ogive revêtue de brique jaune. Base également finie avec un motif en damier en brique jaune. Au-dessus de l'entrée en lettres noires monumentales l'inscription "PAX". Sous le passage se trouvent deux niches étendues avec quatre couronnes d'épines en fer et des lions flamands peints sur les côtés. Sur les petits côtés du portail, deux croix monumentales en briques ajourées de fenêtres en fer et au rez-de-chaussée une porte d'entrée en métal avec une tête de lion stylisée et les lettres "AVV-VVK". Les quatre statues récupérées et restaurées conçues par le sculpteur Karel Aubroeck (Temse) sont placées sous les bras croisés des croix. Juste en face du Paxpoort : pierre commémorative de Joe English. Petite pierre commémorative rectangulaire conçue par le sculpteur Karel Lateur avec une représentation en haut-relief de deux femmes en longues robes. L'un tient une palette de peintre à la main, l'autre une croix. Croix sculptée en haut avec les lettres "AVV-VVC" et "pied bleu" gravé. Sur le socle l'inscription "JOE ENGLISH R.I.P.".

Ruine de l'ancienne tour de l'Yser et de la crypte associée. Socle en briques à huit pans restauré de l'ancienne crypte. En partie recouvert d'une coupole hémisphérique contemporaine en béton soutenue par deux rangées de piliers coniques en béton dessinés par l'architecte J. Mortier (Cellule Monuments et Paysages, Bruges). Dans le mur se trouvent des niches dans lesquelles ont été placées des pierres tombales en hommage aux héros. Au milieu de la crypte entre deux imposants vestiges de l'ancienne tour de l'Yser, bloc de béton monumental avec l'inscription "ici leurs cadavres reposent comme des graines dans le sable, espoir de récolte, ô Vlaanderenland". Au-dessus se trouve une croix d'hommage monumentale peinte en blanc avec l'inscription "AVV VVK" en noir et un "pied bleu".

Au pied des ruines de l'ancienne tour de l'Yser, dite "Kruis van Nieuwpoort". Croix en bois avec statue en fer du Christ provenant des ruines de la ville de Nieuport et logée dans la crypte en 1937. À l'intérieur de la crypte également les tombes avec les tombes en hommage aux héros de R. de Rudder, J. De Winde, B. Willems, F. Van der Linden, J. English, F. Kusters, F. Deprez, les frères Van Raemdonck, . .. ; une pierre tombale en hommage héroïque " A TOUS QUI TOMBE POUR LA FLANDRE " et une pierre commémorative à la pose de la première pierre de l'ancienne Tour de l'Yser avec l'inscription " EHC Verschaeve a posé et consacré la première pierre en toute simplicité le samedi 7 juillet 1928 jour de fête de Saint-Cyrille".

L'actuelle Tour de Fer. Tour de rétrécissement se terminant par une croix avec des fenêtres ouvertes à croisillons courts et l'inscription "AVV-VVK" en aluminium perforé et émaillé. Au fond, aux quatre coins, sur différents niveaux, des volumes de briques cubiques rentrants. Sur les tomes les plus prospectifs, le gribouillage "NEVER MORE WAR", "NO MORE WAR", "PLUS JAMAIS DE GUERRE", "KEIN KRIEG MEHR" en lettres blanches. Grande base octogonale avec parement en pierre d'Ourthe et côté nord-est poussé vers l'avant hall d'entrée en béton flanqué de part et d'autre d'un escalier droit. Construction squelette en béton armé avec parament de brique jaune à l'extérieur. L'intérieur de 22 étages est aménagé en musée "Guerre-Paix-Émancipation flamande". Au rez-de-chaussée, salle de réception et chapelle aux vitraux du vitrier E. Yoors, dessinés entre autres par l'artiste Joe English. De plus, une salle des cloches avec carillon et au 22e étage une salle panoramique avec des tuiles aux noms des nombreux donateurs, dont le Davidsfonds, l'Association des Vieux Guerriers et le VTB."
