[FR] 2h30 avant la marée basse, les bancs de sable se découvrent, les phoques en profitent pour se réchauffer et se reposer sur le sable qu’on appelle reposoirs.
Ces phoques ont longtemps été chassés de leur habitat naturel car leur peau et leur graisse constituaient des ressources prisées. En 1972, la chasse devient interdite et peu à peu la station s’est vue accueillir à nouveau ces petites bêtes sauvages.
Deux espèces de phoques sont reconnaissables : le veau marin et le phoque gris.
[EN] 2h30 before the low tide, the sand banks begin to show, the seals take advantage of this to warm themselves and rest on the sand.
For a long time, these seals were hunted because ther skin and their fat were highly prized resources. In 1972, hunting was forbidden and little by little, the site began to attract once again these small wild animals.
Two species of seal can be seen, the common seal and the grey seal.
