This BeefEater is based in the North East village of Annitsford. Just.of the A19 motorway.

A pub-style chain serving up a menu of grilled meats and international favourites such as fajitas.

The following description is from their own website "Beefeater’s been on an exciting journey since opening our first site in 1974. Now, with over 140 restaurants across the UK, we’re known and loved thanks to our famous grills and friendly service. From our mouth-watering steaks to fresh fish and salads, you’ll find plenty of great-value meals on the menu. Plus, with a whole range of tasty and nutritious kids’ dishes, we’re the perfect choice for family meals. Whatever the occasion, celebrate it with Beefeater."

The service here was a full 10 out of 10 no doubt about it. The food however was a disappointment. I ate with my wife, step-son and step-daughter and grandson.

I got the mixed grill with a side of peppercorn sauce. The steak was cooked to perfection and the sausages were although a bit on the small side were very tasty. The chicken which was described as chicken breast in the menu was actually a thin slice of chicken breast and the chips described as 3 times cooked chips was in fact frozen chips. For the price you pay here you would expect home cooked chips at least. Everyone at my table echoed my complaint about the chips. My wife and step-daughter both got the smothered chicken which again was not a breast as described but a very thin slice of breast and was not smothered and would have been better described as having a light smattering of barbecue sauce and melted cheese. My step-son got the burger which aside from the chips he was happy with. My grandson we got the childs spaghetti bolognese which was suspiciously the same consistency and taste as Heinz tinned spaghetti bolognese.

As you go out to eat mostly for the food I would say a disappointment all round. I will not be returning.

Another thing to note is this restaurant offers an all you can eat breakfast for £8.99 in the mornings.
