The coat of arms of the Episcopal Diocese of Erie is displayed above the main entrance to the headquarters of the Episcopal Diocese of Northwestern Pennsylvania, next door to the Cathedral of Saint Paul on West Sixth Street in downtown Erie, Pennsylvania.
This Episcopal Diocese was created out of the Diocese of Pittsburgh in 1910. It was orginally called the Diocese of Erie. At some point, the name changed to the Episcopal Diocese of Northwestern Pennsylvania. In 2019, this diocese merged with the Diocese of Western New York to form a partnership of the Episcopal Dioceses of Western New York and Northwestern Pennsylvania. They have a single bishop bewteen them.
