Someone, way back when, took note of this vaguely alligator-shaped shale outcropping on the south side of Doctor Pepper Road and applied a little paint, to good effect. The result is Alligator Rock, which has been a fixture in this little corner of Oklahoma for a good long while. On the web page linked below a commenter notes that the rock has been painted like an alligator for as long as they could remember. Gator Rock is now protected (somewhat) by a white pipe barrier.
