The plaque in memory of Henry Percy Harpur M.D. Capt. R.A.M.C. is located in the memorial garden adjacent to the War Memorial between Sandbach Road South and Ashmore's Lane in Alsager.
The memorial garden features a war memorial with a statue of a soldier holding a rifle. The names of the soldiers from this area who fell in both World Wars are inscribed on the plinth.
The land was donated by Dr Crutchley in memory of Henry Percy Harpur M.D. Capt. R.A.M.C., and the laying out of the gardens was funded by public subscription.
The inscription on the plaque reads as follows;
THIS LAND WAS GIVEN
IN HONOURED MEMORY
OF
HENRY PERCY HARPUR
M.D., CAPT., R.A.M.C.
There was healing in his hands
And humanity in his heart.
THE GARDENS WERE LAID OUT
