Mount Hancock is located in New Hampshire's White Mountains. The mountain is considered to have two peaks (North and South), each of which qualifies as one of the AMC's 4,000+ foot peaks. Mount Hancock is located to the west of Mount Carrigain, and is most often climbed via the Hancock Notch trail (that starts near the hairpin turn on the Kancamagus Highway), the Cedar Brook trail, and the Hancock Loop trail (which loops across both the north and south peaks). Both peaks (and the connecting trail) are wooded at the top, but in clear weather, several excellent views are provided along the way.
