This garage door is part of a larger mural that reflects the history of Meyersdale. The train is pulling a load of coal which was the main industry in the early days of the area. The actual viaduct is located just west of town and is now part of the Great Allegheny Passage Rail Trail. The mural entitled “Welcome to Meyersdale” painted by artist Carolyn Quinn can be seen from the public space along Main Street. (The street view of Google Earth Pro shows the door open.)
