En 1869 publica "A muller do porvir", un ensaio feminista que defende o libre acceso da muller a educación e tira por terra as teorías que promoven a superioridade do home en función de criterios biolóxicos. O primeiro que necesita a muller é afirmar a súa personalidade, independentemente do seu estado e persuadirse de que, solteira, casada ou viúva, ten dereitos que cumprir, dereitos que reclamar, dignidade que non depende de ninguén."
