On May 5, 1970, in the 25th year of his regained freedom, Rosmalen dedicated this monument in deep gratitude to his own fallen and to his distant friends and their fallen, the 53rd Welsh Division who liberated Rosmalen from the brutal German occupation on October 23, 1944 and the Canadian Lake Superior Regiment defending the village for another four months

Op 5 mei 1970 in het 25e jaar van zijn herkregen vrijheid wijdde Rosmalen dit monument in diepe dankbaarheid van zijn eigen gevallenen en aan zijn verre vrienden en hun gesneuvelden de 53 Welsh Division die op 23 oktober 1944 Rosmalen van de wrede Duitse bezetting bevrijdde en het Canadese Lake Superior Regiment dat nog vier maanden het dorp verdedigde.
