This tower is at the far end of the road in the Shark Valley part of Everglades National Park. It is accessible by walking to it, biking, or taking the tram on the ranger tour. The road and the tower were built originally by an oil company before the park was established. Now the tower is a favorite part of Shark Valley. It is easy to climb to the view because it is a spiral ramp that isn't steep, so it can easily be used by a stroller or wheelchair. As the rangers say, "just don't touch the alligators."
From the park's website:
"The highest elevation a visitor can reach by foot in the entire park, at 45 feet plus in elevation. Panoramic views up to 20 miles of the Everglades are a favorite for visitors. The elevated view provides wonderful perspective of the diverse landscapes. Open year round and 24-hours a day."
