Through preservation and education, The missions of
Armand Bayou Nature Center
are to:
- Preserve the wetlands prairie, forest and marsh habitats with which they
have been entrusted.
- Provide opportunities for people to experience Armand Bayou habitats and
discover the importance of preserving these vanishing habitats.
This is the largest urban wilderness preserve in the U.S. It contains 2500
acres of the natural wetlands forest, prairie and marsh habitats once abundant
in the Houston/Galveston area. It is home to over 370 species of birds,
mammals, reptiles and amphibians. Armand Bayou Nature Center offers hiking
trails, exhibits, field trips, Scout programs, birding, a historic farm and
more. They also conduct educational and stewardship programs.

Last admission is 4:30, gates are locked at 5:00
