This monument is to the unknown who were mortally wounded at the neighboring Middleburg Baptist Church which was used as a hospital during the Civil War. The United Daughters of the Confederacy erected the monument in the center of a circle of eighty markers of unknown burials.

Monument Text: To The Unknown Dead

Plaque at the base text: The perpetual care of this hallowed spot is the gift of the Middleburg chapter United Daughters of the Confederacy.

Note: the cemetery road is rather narrow, depending on vehicle size, drivers may prefer to park outside of the gates and walk in.
