This bench in honour of Harold Faragher and Stewart Curphey, lifelong friends, can be found alongside the northwest boundary wall of the Point of Ayre Lighthouse compound.
This light-coloured weathered wooden bench has a horizontally slatted seat, a vertically slatted backrest and two armrests.
There is a uniquely shaped metal plaque attached to the backrest which has the following dedication:
“In loving memory of two lifelong friends
Harold Faragher and Stewart Curphey
who were
tragically lost at sea while fishing
on July 27th 2013
they both spent many an hour here at the Point”
The bench is positioned alongside the northwest boundary wall of the Point of Ayre Lighthouse compound. It affords views across the pebbly beach, across the Irish Sea and towards the coasts of Northern Ireland and Scotland.
