DE: Am Eingang zum Schloss Neersen in Willich bei Krefeld befindet sich die Bronzeskulptur "Gaukler und Muse" des Bildhauers Michael Franke. Aufgestellt wurde die 1992 erstellte Figur für den 1994 eingeweihten Skulpturenpark im Schlossgarten.

Die menschengroße Bronzefigur vereint analog zum römischen Gott Janus zwei Figuren. Auf der einen Seite sieht man den lächelnden Gaukler in seinem Narrenkostüm und einigen Musikinstrumenten sowie einem Hut in der rechten Hand, auf der anderen Seite der Figur befindet sich die singende Muse, die ebenfalls von weiteren Instrumenten und einem Notenblatt mit dem Titel des Werkes "Gaukler und Muse 1992" umgeben ist. Selbstverständlich hält die Muse den Hut in ihrer linken Hand. An den beiden großen Figuren wurden zudem auch Spielzeuge wie kleinere Figuren von Tieren, ein paar Würfel, ein Diabolo, ein Stehaufmännchen und weitere angebracht.

EN: The bronze sculpture "Juggler and Muse" by the sculptor Michael Franke is located at the entrance to Neersen Castle in Willich near Krefeld. The figure created in 1992 was set up for the sculpture park in the castle garden, which was inaugurated in 1994.

The human-sized bronze figure combines two figures analogous to the Roman god Janus. On one side you can see the smiling juggler in his fool's costume and some musical instruments as well as a hat in his right hand, on the other side of the figure is the singing muse, who is also accompanied by other instruments and a sheet of music with the title of the work "Juggler and Muse 1992". Of course, the muse holds the hat in her left hand. Toys such as smaller figures of animals, a few dice, a diabolo, a stand-up man and others were also attached to the two large figures.
