Anna Maria Gilman was born May 1, 1752 in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
She married John Ludwig Snider, who had been born in Germany and fought in the American Revolutionary War. The couple had 8 children, most of whom also lived long lives: Mary Catherine (89), George Edward (77), Daniel (90), John (60), Jacob (76), Johannes Ludwig (79), Barbara (75), and Sabastian (0).
She saw the American Revolution firsthand, as John was a Revolutionary soldier. By the time of her death, there were 31 states in the union.
Mexico became independent from Spain during her lifetime.
She passed away August 21, 1857, in Bell Township in Clearfield County.
Both she and John are buried in the New Washington cemetery.
