The need to protect themselves from the plague and other infectious diseases led to the construction throughout Galicia of temples dedicated to the devotion of San Roque. This one in Ribadeo dates from the 16th century and from the moment of its foundation it has enjoyed the predilection of the people of Ribadeo. The chapel underwent several extensions, the most important in the 18th century. Its altarpiece dates from then, presided over by the patron saint, accompanied by, among others, San Sebastián, San Domingos and Santo Tomé de Aquino. ( visit link)
