At the south end of Christina Lake is the Christina Lake Welcome Centre. It is just north off Kimura Road, which leads west off Highway 3. Heading east directly opposite Kimura Road is Santa Rosa Road, which heads over the Cascade Mountains, ending at Rossland. It is this road which one must follow to reach Monument 168. Continue down Santa Rosa Road for about 9 kilometres (5.6 miles) until uou are directly north of the coordinates of Monument 168. One may park on the side of the road anywhere in the vicinity. From there one must bushwack about 130 metres (430 feet) to the monument. As I recall, there's an old fence not far south of the road.

Joint Report Upon The Survey and Demarcation of the Boundary Between The United States and Canada, by the
International Boundary Commission, tells us the following:
TYPES OF MONUMENTS
The monuments which mark and reference the boundary are of the following 11
types:
1. General type of cast—iron monument made in 1872—76 and in 1908—13. (Fig. 1.)
2. General type of aluminum-bronze monument made and set in 1904—9. (Fig. 2.) ...,
meaning that this border monument, monumented in 1905, is of the aluminum-bronze type. It is covered with silver paint. Raised lettering reads "Canada" on the north side, "United States" on the south side, "Treaty of 1846", etc. on the east side, with the monument's number, "166", on the west side.
