The Two storey reinforced concrete banking chamber and offices of the former Commonwealth Bank was constructed in 1940. The building suffered minor damage during early air raids on Darwin; it was occupied by Royal Australian Navy (RAN) staff during much of the war. Cyclone Tracy caused minor damage in 1974.
The former bank building is now a restaurant
