The oak tree was planted in the Waalwijk Wandelpark in 2003 as part of the festivities surrounding the 700 years of Waalwijk's city rights.

The tree was offered by Hertog Jan II and pupils from 3 primary schools (Waalwijk, Waspik and Sprang-Capelle) on National Tree Day 2003
