In 1866 the land is bought by mr van der Heijden. He is a shoemaker from Baardwijk. From that moment onwards shoes are made at this location (by hand). In 1898 the factory starts making the shoes with machines. The factory is extended with a steamengine, machineroom and the chimney,
Up to 1937 thousands of shoes are made every year. In that year Theodorus van Wijk buys the location to create socks and stockings. From that moment onwards, the buildings are know as the Stockingsfactory.
In 1990 the production of stockings is stopped. This location is a rare treasure of industrial activity within the Waalwijk city limits. It was restored in 2003.
