This work of art, a girl drinking water from a fountain, symbolizes that a lively Waalwijk will continue even after the celebration of '700 years of city rights' in 2003, with youth as the future and water as a necessary source of life. People who contributed to the successful anniversary year 2003 received a replica of the statue.

The monument, made by Astrid Veldhuyzen-Koppen of Atelier 'In Beeld' from Papendrecht, was presented to the municipal council on Friday September 3rd 2004 and was temporarily placed in the front garden of the former town hall in Waalwijk.

The plaque at the bottom of the statue mentions the sponsors.
