[EN] Mining and the railways are the theme of the mosaics. The Lens train station was particularly important in the transport of coal extracted by nearby mines.

Auguste Adolphe Labouret (born March 20, 1871 in Laon – died February 13, 1964 in Crozon), was a French master glass and mosaic artisan.

In 1938, he was made knight of the Legion of Honor, and the same year he began the mosaics of the basilica of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré in Canada, which he considered his masterpiece. But war kept him from returning and his daughter Claire took over the management of the Paris workshop.
