"In August 1965, the Minister of Information and Tourism, Manuel Fraga, presided over the inauguration of the monument to the Galician piper, erected on Mount Santa Cruz, near Ribadeo (Lugo). The monument, the work of Faílde from Orense, is built in granite stone, has the shields of the Galician councils and represents a piper playing in larger than life size."
