The Former Royal Hotel

Built as an inn by Joseph Taite in
1753, at the time the Tadcaster-Otley
road became a turnpike. The original
section of the building is recorded
as the first substantial house in
Boston Spa and was named
'Farrers Hotel'.

The building is Grade II Listed
The building is currently owned by Costcutter, a grocery store.
