The British Airmen Monument is a war memorial on the Noordsingel in Rotterdam.
The memorial commemorates the airmen of the British Royal Air Force who died in the Second World War.
In particular, one commemorates the killed crew of a downed British war plane, which crashed on the Noordsingel on 16 July 1941. According to the residents at the time, the pilots maneuvered the crashing plane in such a way that it did not land on the buildings, which saved many civilian lives.
The monument was unveiled on October 16, 1946 and consists of a relief of a floating male figure (made by Willem Verbon) with a text of thanks for the RAF on either side, one in English and one in Dutch.
