It is built on an old canvas factory built by order of Carlos III at the end of the 18th century.
In this area, at the beginning of the 19th century, the City Council facilitated the installation of the Theater by the Philanthropic-Dramatic Society.
During much of the 20th century it was used as a cinema, which is why it underwent an important reform. Today it works as a theater and municipal assembly hall.
