De Groene Passage is a group of entrepreneurs who want to bring people and their environment together in harmony; a people and environmentally friendly shopping center. They wanted a work of art with the theme of the controversial relationship between man and nature. The Maastricht artist Hans Lemmen has translated this question from the client into a work of art that literally seeks contact with the passer-by: it offers a warm hand. The image is past, although not entirely as intended, in the image of Rotterdam, which strives for green on the street and has been in the race for titles as "the greenest city in the Netherlands".
