The history of the Oakley Public Library dates back to 1923, when the Oakley Cosmo Club donated four hundred books and local business provided shelves and space. The Library moved to increasingly larger locations, and the current building (which also houses the Fick Fossil and History Museum) was constructed in April 1975. Today the library is a fully automated research center with an expanding physical collection of over 16,000 books, DVDs, games and other materials. The library also has an expanding digital collection of books, movies, television programs, and audio. The library also offers copy and printing services, meeting rooms, free WiFi, and interlibrary loans.
