At the Herald-Progress Building in Ashland, Virginia, both sides of the 112 Thompson Street business sign sport a clock. They also tell different (and incorrect) times.One side read 6:15 and the other 3:58 when I visited at 7:25AM.
A flat box form is mounted to a free-standing post which holds the clock/sign combination several feet off the ground. Somewhat ornate italic font presents the street address in white text outlined in black against a turquoise background. The circular, white clock faces are bisected along the top edge of the sign. Roman numerals III, VI, IX, and XII accompanied by dots for the remaining hours and spade-tip hands are all solid black in color. This presentation is beside the sidewalk southeast of The Herald-Progress building.
