A bronze plaque attached to a rose quartz boulder is dedicated to the memory of 1st Lt. Robert A. Richardson who died in Belgium during World War II. The monument is set in front of the flag pole of the Dalton Lavallee American Legion Post #224. The plaque is inscribed:

The Eighth Air Force was organized January 28, 1942. Dedicated to the strategic bombing of Germany, the Eighth Air Force's daylight strikes and the Royal Air Force's night bombardment led to the dislocation and destruction of Germany's infrastructure and economy.
