In 1896 the original meteorological station was inaugurated, of which the column is preserved, by the then mayor Luis Argudín Bolívar, to disappear in 1966 due to the damage caused by vandalism. The cost of the work was 1625 pesetas. Forty years later the set has been recovered although some pieces had to be replaced. The face of the watch is made of stainless steel. The hour lines indicate the hours, half hours and quarters. It also has equinoctial lines and analema. The original was misdirected and never got the time right. It sits on a column of red Treño marble, with a square plan. At the same time, it is located on a piece of garden with an octagonal shape and tiled seats around it. On the back of the complex you can still read the legend "These walks and gardens were due to the initiative of Mr. D. Narciso García de la Torre, clarified son of this town."
