At present, Kanaka Bar has a population of fewer than seventy-five people and is in the Fraser Canyon region of British Columbia
In the heart of British Columbia is the Fraser Canyon which lies between the towns of Boston Bar and Lytton. In this region lies the traditional territory of the Kanaka Bar Indian Band who have lived on this land for over 8,000 years.
Fraser Canyon is a deep chasm cut by the Fraser River which flows through wild, rugged, spectacular scenery, including mountains rising more than 3,000 Ft. (914 m). Hell’s Gate is in this section of the river.
The elevation sign is 29 km north of Boston Bar and about 17 km south of Lytton.
