Lexington is a town of about 2100 residents. This library facility is part of the Pioneer Library System which serves the counties of Cleveland, McClain, and Pottawatomie. All books and materials are available in Lexington, although none are housed in this location.
This library is located at 801 E. Broadway in downtown, in the same block as the city hall, police and fire departments. It is a small one-story building that has a stucco and wood paneled front and a recessed entrance. The facility is open Mon-Fri from 10:30-3:30. A member can search the library system's online catalog, order books and materials, return books, and using their own laptops, can download ebooks, and manage their library account. Books and materials may be picked up at the Lexington High School.
This is a wonderful way for a smaller community to enjoy the resources of a large library system.
