Mesonet at OSU Botanic Garden - Stillwater, OK - Weather Stations on Waymarking.com

The OSU Botanic Garden is on the north side of Highway 51, west of Western. There is a north and south entrance, with parking on the south side and center.

A weather station along with informational plaques is on the south side of the north parking lot. A small gravel trail leads visitors to the Mesonet as well as a display on Wastewater Treatment.

Instruments here include: Wind Speed and Direction; Communications Antenna; Temperature; Wind Speed; Relative Humidity; Barometric Pressure, Soil Temperature/Moisture; Rainfall, and a Lightning Rod.

The Dr. Ronald L. Elliott Mesonet Weather Site

Welcome to the Dr. Ronald L. Elliott Oklahoma Mesonet Weather Site. The site was established to demonstrate what a state-of-the-art weather data collection site looks like to folks, like yourself, who come to The Botanic Garden at OSU to be inspired and learn.

This site is named in honor of Dr. Ronald L. Elliott, who has been a key leader and one of the founders of the Oklahoma Mesonet. He has represented Oklahoma State University scientists as they worked with meteorologists and geographers from the University of Oklahoma to establish the Oklahoma Mesonet weather network. Dr. Elliott has served as faculty member and department head of OSU Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering, and he has been the OSU leader of the Oklahoma Mesonet Steering Committee for over thirty years.

The Oklahoma Mesonet has five-minute research-quality weather data going back to January 7, 1994 for all of the original sites. A number of these original sites were installed at Oklahoma Agricultural Experiment Station locations across the state.

Visit Instructions:
You must post Waymark coordinates as well as a picture
of you with a GPSr or Geocaching/Waymarking
attire/equipment and the subject weather station in
the background. The main photo should be of just the
weather station itself.
