This tower is displayed at the Energy Museum at Tange Lake.
The tower was built in 1941.
"The tower was made of wood and roofing felt during WW2 to support the turf digging effort with electricity. The power company got a temporary permit to build a tower (in wood) from the Electricity Council, who required the electricity to be switched off when the turf digging season ended each year. The tower remained long after the production of turf ceased and was retired in 1991".
