King's Highway 24 runs from Simcoe to Cambridge. Prior to provincial downloading in the late 1990s, King's Highway 24 stretched from Port Dover all the way to Collingwood. As such, many Ontario Department of Highways benchmarks can be found along this road from terminus to the other.
This is a weathered bronze survey monument installed into the top of a vertical concrete post approximately 0.5m above ground level. The post is on the west side of Highway 24 between the two portions of Norfolk County Road 19. The marker is approximately 15m northwest of a green directional sign.
There are no markings visible on the monument.
There does not seem to be a listing for this benchmark in either COSINE or the NRC databases. This benchmark should not be confused with 00819980515 found in COSINE. The description of that benchmark has it further to the north, on the east side of the highway and below grade whereas this Dept of Highways benchmark is closer to the southern branch of Norfolk County Road 19 and well above grade.
