Brant Highway 2 was originally known as King's Highway 2 until it was downloaded to Brant County in 1998. As such, several Ontario Department of Highways benchmarks can be found along this road from one end of the province to the other.
This is a weathered bronze survey monument installed into the top of a vertical concrete post approximately 40cm above ground level. At one time, the marker was sprayed with red paint. The post is on the south side of Brant Highway 2 (Old Hwy 2) between Falkland Road to the west and Bishopsgate Road to the east. The marker is approximately 5m west of a natural gas valve station.
The only marking visible on the monument are the clear digits "34".
There does not seem to be a listing for this benchmark in either COSINE or the NRC databases. This benchmark should not be confused with 00819930990 found in COSINE. The description of that benchmark has it further to the west and below grade whereas this Dept. of Highways benchmark is closer to Bishopsgate Road and well above grade.
