"In the presbitery is the grandiose Rococo altarpiece, a kind of beautifully displayed and ordered theological summation, the work of the author Francisco Terán. The imagery that is represented in its two golden bodies belongs to the local author Antonio de Castro and the people of Lugo Baamonde and Riobó. The first body of the altarpiece is established with four columns of composite order with the images of San Rosendo and San Martín Dumiense interspersed. In the center, an octagonal exhibitor, a later work, on which the ascension of angels with the Virgin in arms begins, which connects with the main sculptural theme of the second body. The second body is presided over by a sculptural group of the Assumption of the Virgin, head of the Cathedral, with the reception of the Holy Trinity. As appendices, the altarpiece is flanked by the Rococo high-relief carvings of Saints Peter and Paul culminated by representations of faith and charity. In the upper part, the medallions of San José, on the left, and San Joaquín and Santa Ana, on the right, stand out. The whole set has a rich stew."
