Learning is one of three bronze allegorical figures created by Arcangelo Cascieri and Adio di Biccari and dedicated in 1961. The figure of a young man is depicted seated on a globe set on a waves. He has an open book seated in his left hand and a compass in his right hand.

On the equatorial band of the globe are the symbols for signs of the zodiac. Counterclockwise from the front they are:
