North Nibley's Tyndale's Monument was built in 1866 in memory of the writer, William Tyndale, thought to be born nearby. He finished translating the New Testament into English in 1525, but was martyred 13 years later in Belgium.

Opening Hours: The monument is generally open to the public, but if locked a key is available from a cottage in North Nibley - details are given on the notice board.
Directions: Leave the M4 at junction 14. Turn left towards Wotton-Under Edge, and left again at the T-junction with Charfield. Go through Wotton, following signs to North Nibley. The entrance to the monument is on your right just before you get to the main village.
