The Basellandschaftliche Kantonalbank (BLKB) has set up 150 benches with historical information throughout the canton of Basel-Landschaft for its 150th anniversary. Each bank contains a different year and a sign with historical information about the place.

"Rümlingen 1930

"Rümlike", that's how the village in the Homburg valley is popularly called. Church and graveyard with the mighty railroad viaduct in the background have offered themselves for years as a popular motif for art painters. Famous men like Ferdinand Hodler or Otto Morach already captured this charming subject in pictures and found a special challenge in the combination of religion (church) and technology (bridge). The 25 m high stately bridge of the old Hauenstein line (built 1856-58 by the Swiss Central Railway, SCB) is considered a cultural asset of national importance. But the church does not need to hide either, as mainly well-known artists from Basel-Landschaft have worked there: Pulpit carvings and ceiling paintings by Walter Eglin (Känerkinden/Diegten) or three glass paintings by Jacques Düblin (Oberwil). And the music? Since 1990, Rümlingen has been the venue for the Festival of New Music.

(150 benches have been donated by the Basellandschaftliche Kantonalbank on the occasion of its 150th anniversary. All bear a year from the year of foundation 1864 until the year of the anniversary in 2014.)

Die Basellandschaftliche Kantonalbank (BLKB) hat zu ihren 150-jährigen Jubiläum 150 Sitzbänke mit historischen Informationen im ganzen Kanton Basel-Lanfdschaft aufstellen lassen. Jede Bank enthält eine andere Jahreszahl und ein Schild mit historischen Informationen über den Ort.

"Rümlingen 1930

«Rümlike», so wird das Dorf im Homburgertal im Volksmund genannt. Kirche und Gottesacker mit dem mächtigen Eisenbahnviadukt im Hintergrund bieten sich seit Jahren für Kunstmaler als ein beliebtes Motiv an. Berühmte Männer wie Ferdinand Hodler oder Otto Morach hielten dieses reizende Sujet bereits im Bilde fest und fanden in der Kombination von Religion (Kirche) und Technik (Brücke) eine spezielle Herausforderung. Die 25 m hohe stattliche Brücke der alten Hauensteinlinie (erbaut 1856-58 von der Schweizerischen Centralbahn, SCB) gilt als Kulturgut von nationaler Bedeutung. Aber auch die Kirche braucht sich nicht zu verstecken, haben dort doch vor allem bekannte Baselbieter Künstler gearbeitet: Kanzelschnitzereien und Deckenmalereien von Walter Eglin (Känerkinden/Diegten) oder drei Glasgemälde von Jacques Düblin (Oberwil). Und die Musik? Seit 1990 ist Rümlingen Austragungsort des Festivals für Neue Musik.
