Coalgate's Public Safety Building is located at 5 S. Main. This is a two-story brick building which houses the police department, emergency services, and fire department offices.
The roofline is flat, with a large semi-circular pediment in which the clock is embedded. Around the clock is a circular row of bricks. The clock was manufactured by Lunichron. It is a simple clock face with the numerals 12-3-6 and 9, with dashes in-between.
