It started ringing shortly after 10 p.m. and didn't stop until 40 minutes later. And during all that time the residents of San Andrés and the nearest streets had to stoically endure the rhythmic tolón-tolón of one of the bells of the Castrense church. Runaway, ringing unstoppably as if warning of an emergency. But no emergency, no mass, or anything like that. Simply a breakdown or perhaps an oversight in the bell tower's programming, which began to function when the temple was already closed and those responsible could not be found.
Desperate, the neighbors alerted the Local Police and the agents to the firefighters, who appeared at the scene ready to silence the deafening ringing. They deployed the crane and came to approach the bell tower, but finally aborted the operation, with the bell still ringing at full blast and the neighbors fearing that yesterday night was going to be very long. The firefighters stopped because the Local Police had managed to locate the parish priest, who rushed back to the temple to stop the mechanism of the bells and San Andrés, finally, sank back into peace. Forty minutes later.
