This statue is located after a dome of a building that was first an insurance company, then Loewe and now again is called The Union and the Phoenix.
It represents a boy mounted on a strange giant, exotic and fictitious bird. It appears to be of black bronze and of considerable size, given how it is seen from the ground. I do not know if the bird is the Phoenix, the one that as wikipedia says
"a mythological bird the size of an eagle, with red, orange and yellow incandescent plumage, strong beak and claws. It was a fabulous bird that was consumed by fire every 500 years, and a new one came out of its ashes."
In buildings with the same name in Spain in other cities is similar.
